This book is a series of essays on various aspects of life and the recovery process, of goals and obstacles people meet up
with in trying to overcome their addictions, particularly to alcohol, although most of the subjects could apply to anyone's life. The purpose of this book is to provide a series of focuses for
discussion at meetings in the 12-step tradition. There is a short discussion of the topic, followed by an invitation to participate, followed by blank lines for notes, so that the book can be individualized.
This book is not only a good focus for discussion; it is also a great focus for thinking about one's own life and various aspects of others' lives as well. It helps to understand, and to develop one's leadership,
if one is called upon to take that role in discussion meetings or groups.
