This book is a redemption of many acts of kindness and helpfulness from
obscurity and anonymity. It is both an encouragement
and an
inspiration to do likewise. The fundamental structure of the book is a series of
vignettes, of short stories and comments (of approximately one page
each) on acts and attitudes of kindness,
compassion, gentleness, and
caring, and the the effects of these across time and space and through
the lives of the people affected, both in giving and in receiving.
This book is a reminder that society is made up of individual people,
then families, then neighborhoods, on up to state, country, and the
world. It is a reminder, by example, that one simple act of kindness
and compassion can reverberate through time and space to create
happiness and joy and inspiration far beyond its original individual
experience, to create happiness for many others.
The saying that one should practice "random acts of kindness and
senseless acts of beauty" has no greater exemplary. And -- it really
makes you feel GOOD.
