Recently i read the short story collection by popular bengali author G.K.Mitra.The stories are light & enjoyable.One
of the stories is about a Bengali couple.The man remains busy with his daily works & hobbies, which was acting.He used to act on stage for the neighbourhood club.He reharsed his drama till late at night & could hardly get any time.His wife was sad & annoyed with his behaviour.One day he joined a recitation competetion.He was so sure to be the champion.On the stage he recited the poem,got a huge clapping & just waited for the trophy,without taking any interest about the next candidate who was a shy woman, cladded all over with a sari shy & nervous as she was performing for the first time.Her recitation ended.there was a pin drop silence in the auditorium.the most puzzled person was the husband who never expected his wife to be there for the competition & win the trophy.From that day onward the husband never tried to ignore his wife .
