This is a wonderful book full of amazing stories about zoo/wildlife veterinarians and their patients. Tightly edited the
quality of the stories is very consistent. The stories run the gamut from humorous, to touching to just plain incredible. I cannot even begin to imagine the logistics behind flying two whale sharks from Taiwan to an aquarium in the US, capturing and relocating a herd of escaped bison in the middle of rural France or immobilising and radio collaring a wild camel in -25 C weather in Mongolia. A marvellous collection of stories that provide new insight into the challenges veterinarians face daily when trying to deal with such a diverse range of patients, sometimes dangerous, always resentful. There are some amazing examples of being forced to think on your feet and outside the square (sometimes way out) in order to find novel solutions to unique problems. Buy it. I'm in it.
