I don’t know a person alive who actually naturally relishes the notion of
public speaking. Most of us still remember being dragged in front of the class in school where we stood uncomfortably, mumbled a bit, said a few uhs, dropped our notes, and then red-faced walked back to our seats. For the majority of us, that experience left us feeling sure that we’d made a complete fool of ourselves and we’d never want to speak in public again. Then, as an adult, an
opportunity for public
speaking rears its head. Logically, we know that giving a speech or a lecture is a great career opportunity. We know we have something important to say and this is exactly the right venue. But how do we get past our misconceptions and
fears about public speaking? Reiki Speaking is a very
good resource for this particular purpose. The author spends a good deal of time talking about the psychological, emotional, and physical barriers that speakers face. Much of this information is very intuitive and every potential public speaker will see his or her fears spelled out on these pages. The author then goes two steps further to not alleviate these fears but also prepare for common problem situations. About the only thing I would change about this
book is the title. I believe that this book would appeal to anyone wanting to undertake public speaking not just those speaking about Reiki. In fact, other than the
title there is virtually no mention of Reiki.
