As an engineering student, I always fascinated by 3
''D''s i.e. Dream,
Death & Divine Power. Science doesn''t speak
anything about 3 ''D''s. Few years back I got a book ''The Interpretation
of Dreams'' by Sigmund Freud. This book has tried to explain about dream
in a typical psychological analysis of Freudian way. Last year when I
was in London, UK, on a 3 months official visit, I came across a book
''Embracing Eternity'' by Tony Stockwell where the author claims that a
spirit comes to him and talks to him. But, I was not fully convinced
with these books.
Luckily this year on 26 January, I got an interesting book on death. The name of the book stuck me. It was Partoo.
The book Partoo (read as part 2) has the subtitile
''THE PART FOR WHICH YOU WERE BORN''. It talks about the secrets of life
and mystery of death and is written by Sirshree, the author of a best
selling book ''Self Encounter''.
This book contains the conversations on life after
death between a young CEO of a software company and a spiritual master.
In the book the
master reveals what
happens long before death, just
before death, during death, just after death and long after death. It
unveils the mystery of life, death and ''life after death'' or what is
referred to in this book as ''Part Two''
In a very simple way, the author has tried to
explain about death, the topic which most of the people ignore to
discuss. Here is one such extract from the book
"Sirshree (the master): After the dissolution of the
gross body
, you believe
that the person has died. But in reality, he is not dead. His journey
goes on. This can be understood with one more example. What happens
when you go to see off your friend or relative at the railway station?
He boards the train and after some time the train begins to pull away.
You can see him till the train leaves the platform. You wave out to him
as long as you can see him. You stop waving once he is out of your
views. Do you think that the person has died because you are not able
to see him?"
There were other insights for me in this book.
Personally, I was always in the impression that ''planning'' is my
strength. But after going through this book I came to know how short
sighted I am.
This is a must read book for those who are curious to know about the following questions
What is death and why does death occur
Is there life after death
What about rebirth
Do ghosts and spirits exists
How can one overcome the fear of death or the grief over the death of a dear one
