The author does not believe in the saying that there is a silent calm before the storm comes. The
plot starts with a plunge into chaos. Two doses of an
experimental drug were missing at
Oxenford laboratories in Scotland, which did research on
deadly viruses. The experimental drug was an anti-viral which meant only two possibilities. It was either stolen for a rival or for personal use. The latter meant a frightening possibility that somebody was contaminated by a deadly virus probably stolen from the
labs itself. This was the nightmare that
Toni Gallo, head of security at
Oxenford laboratories faced.
The pot proceeds onwards to finding out that one of the personnel of the labs had indeed become infected by the deadly
Madoba-2 virus which had no cure. The plot goes on with bad publicity and a public outcry against
Oxenford laboratories and its owner
Stanley Oxenford. To make matters worse, the closure of the labs would drive
Stanley to bankruptcy given the fact that he had invested all that he had into the laboratories.
On a parallel plane
Kit Oxenford, son of
Stanley Oxenford, is plotting to steal some drug samples from his father’s lab, so as to teach him a lesson for throwing him out of his company when
Toni had found out that he was stealing from his father. The plot thickens into a fight against all odds for
Toni, who has feelings for
Stanley. She must rescue
Oxenford Laboratories from playing a part in the worst terrorist attack ever in human history.
The story is a superb
thriller with the right amounts of mystery, suspense, action and romance. The sequence of events related to each other in a way that would keep the reader glued to the book till the very end.
