You will depart in a boat from the Taquile Community; most of the boats have the upper deck painted in turquoise blue. One hour before arriving there, you will see the island with its whale shape as seen from the profile, and you will arrive at CHILKANO Harbor, which is the main harbor on the island, with an entrance fee of S/5. Once there, it will take you 25 minutes to climb the 532 steps, from there you enter into a wonderful world, where time seems to have stopped and where customs, and the ancestral features mingle with the XXI century, globalization, a mixture of magic and experiences surrounds the visitor in an unforgettable experience. Should you not wish to climb all steps, you can choose to visit the town. (Center) It is more accessible by the SALACANCHA dock (there is an additional cost and the entrance is subject to the boat captain’s availability). A night in a bed and breakfast costs S/10 and lunch is S/10 as well. In the main square there are shops where the visitor can buy almost everything. The return is at 14.30 pm or on the following day.
HARBORS AT TAQUILE ISLAND:  CHILCANO, It is the most important harbor due its structure and movement. This is the place where all private and community boats arrive. It is the place you arrive after climbing the 532 steps. It has a guard station of the boat administrator and the price is S/. 5 to go on the island. Toilets are rather hygienic and can be found on the left hand side and you have to pay S/1 (bear in mind that the ones on the right are for the people working with the boats and are not so well-kept) / ALSUNO, It is flatter, but longer. It is recommended for those who enjoy walking / SALACANCHA, It is the nearest to the town, it has some slopes. It is reached quickly / KOLLINO, Easy access; where boats are made / HUAYLLANO, This is where the restaurant and parking space are placed.
