Walk Two Moons

Book Review by: MrsN

Original Author: Sharon Creech
The saying goes, "Don''t judge a man until you''ve walked two moons in his moccasins."
Walk Two Moons is a novel that
details one full school year in the life of Salamanca Tree Hiddle.  Salamanca is an only child and lives with her father since her mother left on a bus trip to clear her mind.  Her father moves her out of her home in Bybanks, Kentucky to go to Lewiston, Ohio, where there is a suspicious red-haired woman named Mrs. Cadaver with whom he spends all too much time.  Will Mr. Hiddle cheat on his missing wife?  Will Mrs. Hiddle ever come back?  And what exactly do Salamanca and her elderly grandparents talk about on their summer roadtrip?  Why, it''s the story of Phoebe and Ben and Mary-Lou, of course.  And Mr. Birkway, the eccentric English teacher who has been spotted at Mrs. Cadaver''s house digging in the rosebushes...
Join Sal (not Salamander) in her philosophical journey to find her mother, and simultaneously, herself.  Sharon Creech opens the world of the south to her readers in this enchanting prize-winning novel.
