The
book is about Sophie Tennison, an 11-years-old
girl who got a main part on a movie. Sophie was trying to get the part of Lucy on the big Christmas
play,
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She past the audition but she should compete with Justine (another girl that want to get the same part) to be able to perform at the first night of the play (usually the best actors play on the first night). But she got big trouble on dancing and Justine is much more expert than her. Although Sophie is much more better in acting and singing than Justine but still she’s in danger. Sophie should also face another problem at school, especially her best
friend,
ally should move to other class. Her other best friend, Harriet was being bullied by her classmates because Harriet is a smart girl and she is a teacher’s pet and they are jealous because a handsome boy called Ben is crushing on Harriet. Ally is having new friend in her class and that makes the friendship between Sophie-Harriet-Ally is in danger. What will happen in the end? Will Sophie be able to play at the first night? Will her classmates stop bullying Harriet? Will her friendship stay or will it break apart?
The book is perfect for
teen and pre-teen. The
story is very realistic, just like daily life of teenagers. Because of the interesting story, I will rate the book 4 out of 5. I think it’s great book but still not perfect. The reason why I recommend the book to teen and pre-teen is because the story is about friendship and a little bit of romance, the most common genre of teen novels. My favorite character is Harriet because she is so genius and I kind of enjoy her romance story. My favorite part is when Ally, Harriet and Sophie get beck together again because it is so touching. At last, they can all share their thoughts and together they solve their problems. The only thing that I don’t really like from this book is because the ending is not so good. Although all problems are solve but I wonder what happen to Harriet and Ben and also I want to know about Kelly and friends, the gang that bullied Harriet. I want to see if they have learnt their lesson or not.
