Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Book Abstract by: Insomniac23

Original Author: J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter can hardly believe he’s a wizard, and a famous one at that (having defeated the most evil sorcerer of the age,
Voldemort, when he was still a baby), with the way the Dursleys have been treating him. Harry is thus so excited to start the second year, where he will once again be whisked by the Hogwarts Express into Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. What’s more, he will once again be with his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
But Harry’s return to Hogwarts was beset by warnings from Dobby, a house-elf, who didn’t want Harry to go back to Hogwarts because terrible things were bound to happen.
And terrible they were. Someone was causing terror and panic in Hogwarts by turning the students into stone. Yet who could that someone be? Could it be Draco Malfoy, Harry’s archenemy? Could it be Hagrid, whose past has finally been revealed? Or could it be Harry Potter himself, the suspected Heir of Slytherin?
We witness once again another exciting adventure of our favourite wizard, Harry Potter, in this second instalment by J.K. Rowling. Dark and sinister, the second book reveals new characters and new plots. While the events at Hogwarts are spooky, J.K. Rowling never loses sight of the fact that Harry Potter’s story is magical; hence, we are yet again treated to a dose of extraordinary magic. What I particularly liked about this second instalment is the ‘whodunit’ style of writing; cleverly written to keep you guessing until the end. And not particularly lost is the wonderful, wonderful humour of the Weasley twins.
