Children of Famous Parents Are Unhappy

Book Abstract by: slawek4567

Original Author: ginap

Children of famous parents are unhappy.

In fact, such a generalization may be a misjudgment, as every

child should be treated as an individual. Nevertheless, lives of these children seem to be difficult.

The famous are inducted in the glare of the public eye. Famous people and their families are constantly being observed and scrutinized. Children of popular parents get immense attention from media, visitors and the numerous “well-wishers” and fans. Their joys and sorrows always become of a public interest. Media commemorate on photographs every special moment or event in their lives. The press – an evening out with family or a meeting with friends will undoubtedly capture the most private ones. To put it in another way – the privacy hardly ever exists.

Furthermore, being the child of the famous can be especially hard in part because of the danger that the child cannot live up to the parent’s public success and only a modest success seems a drastic falling off. In the presence of a towering personality, the understanding and establishing a sense of self and identity becomes an uphill task. Whether following their parents’ footsteps or diverging into their own paths, they carry with them the legacy of their parent’s name.

Fame has style, glamour, money, recognition, attention, and power. What is it like to be born to someone who has all this? “How lucky” could be the first response. As a matter of fact, that is quite superficial. A closer look may perhaps change it.
