Breaking Dawn

Book Abstract by: Insomniac23

Original Author: Stephenie Meyer
Even among vampires, a legend, close to a myth, exists, about a child born of a human mother and a vampire father. It is
not certain what the child becomes or how dangerous he can be. One thing is definite: the mother always dies.
And so Edward asks permission from Jacob to change Bella if worse comes to worst because Bella was being stubborn in keeping the baby inside her, even if her human body was so frail for it. Assuming, however, that Bella survives the pregnancy, whether as human or vampire, there is still the child to contend with: will he be considered a vicious new-born?
And what about the Volturi, the preservers of the secret? When a vampire close to the Cullens turned her back on them and reported to the Volturi that she saw the new-born, the Cullens could not understand why all members of the coven came down on them. And Alice saw something that made her run away...
Is this the end for the Cullens then? And is this the end for Bella and Edward...?
Coming really close to the first book as my most favorite is this fourth and final installment of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. As in all final installments, questions have been answered, and the mysteries are revealed. But what fascinates me the most is the way the author vividly describes the world of Bella now that she is a vampire. And the camaraderie of the characters makes it very difficult to put into mind that this is a world of vampires and wolves the author is immersing us in. Much as I don't want to compare, it cannot be helped, but this feeling is so very much like what the Harry Potter series did to me. Witches are feared, and so do vampires and wolves, but it makes it difficult to see them in such a fearful light when they have authors with so much imagination and boundless humor.
The last book in this vampire saga has its moments of sadness and fear. I will not begrudge the author if she intends to have a not-so-happy ending because well, let's face it, lovable as they seem to be in this series, vampires are vicious, deadly even. But I am so glad things went well. It is possible to have your cake and eat it too, at least in this saga.
