The Princess Diaries X - Forever Princess

Book Review by: ViolettaDupres

Original Author: Meg Cabot
Princess Amelia is back, in this latest, and last, book in Meg Cabot's hit series, The Princess Diaries - wiser, wittier,
but still herself. She's no longer the mammary-gland challenged, slouchy big-footed geek she used to be. Instead, she's discovered fashion, a bigger bra-size and how to stand up to Grandmere Clarisse.
Mia is teetering on life's precipice, and for more reasons than one - she's about to turn 18, still hasn't decided which college to go to, has just completed her senior school project on Genovian oil presses, her dad's running against his own cousin in the Genovian elections - and her boyfriend J.P. still hasn't asked her to the senior prom! But Mia is caught in a web of lies - what no one knows is that her project is in reality a 400-page romance novel, which by the way no publishing house seems to want, she's been accepted at every university she's applied to contrary to what she's told her friends, and quelle horreur - she doesn't really want to go to her senior prom!
And as if juggling those secrets weren't enough to keep her busy, Mia learns something that shakes her world - Michael is back in New York, immensely wealthy and successful, the pioneer of the robotic CardioArm for heart surgery. Of course, that doesn't make any difference because J.P. is totally perfect for her in every way and she's definitely in love with him, not Michael. Isn't she?
Birthday bashes, conflicting signals from the men in her life, graduation and virginity, coping with her often hysterical but well-meaning friends, not to mention her dysfunctional family, and a startling revelation about MHC - Mia deals with everything in her own inimitable way. Read the book for a thouroughly satisfying conclusion to a lovely series - because once in a while, fairy tales do come true, and princesses do have happy endings.
