The Changeover begins when fourteen-year old Laura Chant has a premonition. Instead of the normal world, where her absent-minded
mother searches for her shoes so they can leave home for the day, Laura senses something forboding and dangerous waiting to change her forever. By the end of the day, her baby brother Jacko has been marked by a mysterious shopkeeper named Carmody Braque, and Laura knows that something is dreadfully wrong.
