elimination by tourism is an important way to promote the coordinated development of all regions and solve the problem
of poverty.Distinguished from the traditional model of the testing area of poverty
elimination by tourism,the model of one-to-one assisting by tourism,or the model of Pan-poverty elimination by tourism which embraces all kinds of tourism development in the underdeveloped areas,the multi-directional pattern for poverty elimination by tourism is a kind of innovation in the area of poverty elimination.The project is operated in the whole province,as represented by Guangdong.It is featured by aiding the poor people and area by developing tourism,promoting sustainable development of the regional economy,being guided under the auspice of the government and being carryied out in a system.Aiming at the poor group in 51 mountain counties,especially the 16 poorer counties mainly located in the northern,eastern and western parts of Guangdong province,the provincial elimination project by tourism has been carried out in Guangdong province since 2002;30 million yuan is spent as the special fund for the poverty elimination project by tourism every year.Three years later,the project went well in all aspects,such as in attracting bid for inviting investments,promoting employment,and so on.Up to now,87 sites have been named as important projecs of elimination project by tourism,and 90 million yuan has been spent to support the project covering 48 counties.Based on three years' practice of Guandong,this paper gives a systematic research on the
provincial poverty elimination project by tourism.For the first time,the authors propose the concept of the provincial poverty elimination project by tourism study the operation mechanism of this project,and analyze the challenge and problem when this pattern works.At last,some suggestions are proposed in order to perfect the project.
