Ecological Museums are a new kind of museums related to the protection of natural and cultural heritages in communities,and
they are also one of the modes being worth to be used in the development and protection of the minorities’ cultural tourist resources in China.The Kanas region of Xinjiang is the only area where Tuva people live in compact communities in China.Tuva people live mainly in Horm Village,Kanas Village and Bayhaba Village in the Kanas region,Xinjiang,and the population is about 2000.The quality and quantity of the population are sharply reduced,because the villages are sparsely populated and are in closed communities,and the consanguineous marriage is quite common.However,the assimilation of Tuva people has increasingly become serious along with the intercourse increase with other minorities,so it is very important to protect the folk-custom culture of Tuva people while increasing their living standard.This paper sums up the conception,characteristics and domestic and foreign development actuality of ecological museums,and the conception of ecological museums is applied in the development and planning of the tourism in
Horm Tuva Village based on analyzing the characteristics of the folk-custom resources and the development actuality of the tourism in the village.Thus,the ideas and concept to overcome the problems in developing ecological museums is put forward so as to explore the new ways for the development,protection and coordinative development of minorities’ folk-custom culture and provide the references foe developing the minorities’ cultural tourist areas in whole Xinjiang and other provinces in China.
