As a culture phenomenon, religion has close relationship with tourism, and also is an important tourist resource. The further
development of tourist resource and sustainable development of tourism industry the research of the relationship between religion and the
cultural landscape in different regions of China and the development of
religious tourism.
This paper studies the relationship of religion and religious culture landscape. The main ideas are as follows: On one hand, religion affected culture landscape. (1) Religion has an important effect on architecture; (2) Religion makes a notable effect on funeral rites; (3) Some kinds of plants are influenced by religion. On the other hand, religious culture landscape has an effect on religion. (1) Religious culture landscape has strengthened religious consciousness; (2) Culture landscape has positive effects to the distribution and development of religion; (3) Culture landscape has an effect on religion by some styles of art. By summarizing the feature of religious geography in China, it discuses the development of religious tourism and puts up with some advice as follows: (1) Studying regional religions and doing religious tourism; (2) Based on the practiced case of the planning of Benxi city tourism in which the author took park in 1999, designing and developing religious tourism program by excavating the connotation of religious culture; (3) Protecting religious tourist resource and constructing coordinating culture landscape which indicates that human, environment, religion and culture landscape are integrated in harmony; (4) Promoting religious tourism development by liberating thoughts and coordinating relationship.
