Period- selected bronzes dating from Jin Empire found at Minister
Zhao's Mausoleum in Taiyuan -- was unfurled to Macao compatriots. The Kingdom of Jin was the one and only superpower in Central China during Spring and Autumn
period (770 B. C. - 476 B. C. ), and one of the five hegemonies at that time. The 108 pieces of bronze ware, on exhilbition at Macao this time, were all excavated in 1988 from the tomb of Zhao Jianzi circa 540 B. C. -- 474 B. C. ), Minister of Jin State of the Spring and Autumn period, near the ancient city of Jinyang or southern outskirts of today's Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi
province. The large quantity of unearthed artifacts from the tomb, remaining totally safe and sound from grave pillage, are of highly historical, artful and scientific values. According to media, the cultural relics show of such a large scale and from a hinterland province of China was the first ever of its kind. A dozen of local newspapers and magazines, such as Macao Daily and Va Kio Daily, had given a continued, wide coverage to the event, lending naturally to Macao, a place commingling so well with non -- Chinese cultures, a profuse pigment of the centuries -- old Chinese civilization. The delegation from Shanxi Cultural Relics Bureau to Macao, as the friendly envoy of Shanxi people, while showcasing the exquisite, palatable, enchanting objets d' art, was equally well received by Macao audience from all walks of life.
