Mr.Zhang, one of the famous Chinese Language and Literature educator in China, always has the opinion that teaching materials reformation must be linked with modernization as speaking of Chinese Language and Literature teaching reformation. This kind of theory of linking has a directive meaning for present and future Chinese Language and Literature reformation. The article probed into Mr. Zhang's opinion from three points. First, from the point that Mr. Zhang thinks much of literature education and claims compiling literature textbook I've discussed the first directive meaning of "Theory of Linking": literature education is an important approach to link Language and Literature teaching and modernization together. Second, from the point that Mr. Zhang thinks that teaching materials must "make knowledge as their guide, make practice as their main body and make the possessing of practicing ability as their goal" I've discussed the second directive meaning of "Theory of Linking": compiling teaching materials must start from growing students' practical ability. Third, from the point that Mr. Zhang thinks much that teaching materials must be exercisable and acceptable I discussed the third directive meaning of "Theory of Linking": teaching materials must be benefit for teachers to teach and benefit for students to develop their creativity.
