4 townships such as JinSheng, JinYuan, JinCi & YaoCun and 2 neighborhood offices of Yijing and LuoCheng, with a total area of 287 square km and a population of 180, 000, and is considered as a fish -& - rice land in Taiyuan, with beautiful scenery, abundance in natural resouroes, warm climate and fertile soil in its region. This district boulers the Yellow River on the east and lies close to the LongShan Mountains where there exist a great deal of historical & cultural relics and tourist resourees. JiCi is a sacred place of the Wangs and the Zhangs at home and abroad seeking their origin and offering sacrifices to their ancestors,where in June of 1993 the first global get - together of all the Wangs and in September of 1998 the 5th global get - together of all the Wangs were held.JinYuan is quite rich in minerals, with the coal deposit of 2000 million tons, with the plaster - stone deposit of 35 million tons as well as the bauxite and refractory clay, where there are 288 industrial enterprises of its own as well as more than 20 large & medium sized state enterprises like Taiyuan Chemical - Industry Group Company and the First Power Plant of Taiyuan. With many advantages of agriculture such as fertile soil and abundant aquatic resources, it has good farm land of 100, 000 mu and the famous JinCi's rice is produced here, and it is both a major vegetablegrowing area in Shanxi and a key non-staplefood producing base of Taiyuan.
