Baodugu Mountainous Region in Shanting,
Zaozhuang Municipality(117°14′00″ 117°44′20″E,34°54′00″-35°19′20″N),lies in southwest
of Yimeng Mountainous Region. It coversan area of 1018km￣2 ,with population of 4.3×10￣5, Hilly area spreads all over the region and is89% of toatl land area in the region. The reglon is of an aItitude at 121-620m. The climatebelongs to monsoon,continental,warm-temperate zone. The average temperature is 13.5℃,theannual precipitation is 900mm and in summer the rainfall is 76% of the annual precipitation. The forest coverage in the region is 37%.The region has rich tourist resources ,with 16 scenic spots,such as Baodugu National ForestPark,ruins of ancient Fuli Culture( 6 500a BP),and the site of Former Peasant Anti-JapaneseTraining Class of Jiangsu,Shandong ,Henan and Anhui Provinces,etc. These spots are classi-fied into 4 scenic types,i.e. the scenic spot ,the climbimg and hunting spot,the ancient cultureruins and the former site of anti-fascism war.FOrest in Baodugu National Forest Park(140-580m)contains trees of subtropical zone andwarm-temperate zone. The Park has 129 species of woody plants :Ginkgo biloba, Chionanthusretusus,Carpinus turczaninowii etc. ,89 species of birds :Cygnus cygnus, Ciconia ciconia boy-ciana, Asio otus otus etc., 8 kind of beasts: Felis bengalensis, Paguma laruata ete.In the region,natural and humane tourist resources,including mature, society,history andculture, composed a unitary whole. The time order of historical culture distinguishes from6500a BP to now,So these tourist resources have distinctive features.In order to develop the local economy the ways to exploit the tourist resources are :to makean overall program;to repair or rebuild some historical sites;to build roads for tourism and basicconstruction;to set up tourist management organs,and protect the environment.
