A comparison between the glucocorticoids and substitute for glucocorticoids in pharmacological functions of reducing inflammation
was made by experimental pharmacological methods under the same conditions in this paper. It shows that inhibitory rate on rabbts' auricle inflammation by Xylene respectively was 25% in low dose group of succedaneum and 70.8%(P<0.01) in high dose group of succedaneum, 16.7% in prednisone group; rabbts' right leg metatarsus average swelling rate (%) by egg white respectively was (5.74±4.3) in low dose group of succedaneum and (3.46±3.4) in high dose group of succedaneum, (10.14±4.5 )in prednisone group; inhibitory rate on granulations by absorbent cotton respectively was 2.8% in low dose group of succedaneum and 10.4%(P<0.05) in high dose group of succedaneum, 8.3% in prednisone group; macrophages average phagocytic rate in rabbit abdominal cavity respectively was (83.7±4.3) in low dose group of succedaneum and (74.5±1.0) in high dose group of succedaneum, (54.8±4.8) (P<0.01)in prednisone group. The data analysis indicates that the succedaneum is better than prednisone in reducing inflammation and it has no clear inhibition on macrophages in rabbit abdominal cavity.
