Traditional
authentication of painting and calligraphy sometimes depend onsegmented and punctilious experience that is by
comparing visual impression with works tobe authenticated, but for individuals it takes a long time to accumulate the knowledgeabout the development of painting and calligraphy and the relevant control of visualestimation, thus problems of miss-judgments on account of impression-first or experien-tial-absence quite often happened. Modern
authentication that introduces the style con-ception from the history of fine art into this field is mostly basing on time style andpersonalities, changing the authenticating method from virtuosity to logic. In practice,the time style is primary, and the
personalities are secondary. But the time style is inthe personalities, and the personalities control the style of time. The research of thestyle should start with the studying of the artist’s personalities, proceeding casestudy, in order to set up the style cases series, to settle the technical foundation forworking on cases. The case study should use the different ways according to the objects.This article focuses on discussing the related investigation methods and program-setup.
