About the project:
Main purpose:
- 24 hour water supply of Rustavi city and use waste water for other purposes.

The city has territory which is spread on 6060 hectares .
- Population of Rustavi city is approximately 138 200 people. An accounted norm for one person in 24 hour – 270 liters. Monthly payment for one person – 1.09 Euros(2.60 GEL). Monthly payment for each cubic meter – 0.12 Euros(0.30 GEL).
- Approximately 1500 organizations are located in this city. Schools, shops, municipal services, car washing, factories are among these organizations. Monthly payment for each cubic meter – 1.13Euros(2.70GEL)
Current situation:
-Low quality of water
-Not enough water
-Old infrastructure and network systems, for these reasons not enough pressure.
- 90% of organizations have water meters. Some of population also have water meters.
-Generally the reservoirs are filled by the river Khrami and river Debetta.
-These rivers can supply 1800 liters in a second.
-There are middle level of reservoirs:
2 X 1250 tones
2 X 850 tones
5 X 6000 tones
- The length of main line tube of water supply is 60 km. (D=600mm; D=800mm)
- The length of main line tube system – approximately 70 km. (D=500mm)
- The length of network system after main line - approximately 150km.(D=50mm-200mm)
- Generally water is cleaned by chloride.
- The processing waste water system does not exist.
Financial current situation:
30% of population pay monthly payment of water bill.
90% of organization pay monthly payment of water bill
Project:
1. Change old management.
2. Reconstructure of head-reservoirs.
3. Rehabilitation of old network systems
4. Make modern, radio system water-meters, which costs will be put on new tariffs. However, some people have initiative to make water-meters for themselves by own money ( it’s interesting)
5.Choose territory for processing the waste water
Rehabilitation of canalization system.
During the rehabilitation of old network there is necessary to make water-meters in the entrance place of the city and also, in the entrance places of micro districts. This process will assist to find leakages underground.
Alternative way for future:
§Make a main line tube (D=900mm) from the Lake of Tbilisi, which length size will be 45 km.. This lake is located on the North side of Rustavi.
