.......The story of Dog Chikku!.... a new breed of Indian Dog. The poodle's a rage among many pet owners who spare no expence to ensure he has everything he needs. And like a Gucci collar and leash, a lot that h doesn't . The 350 dollar designer ensemble was agift for Chikku's birthday, said Asha singh... owners mother. Owner is a 10 year old boy.

........It is said that , Pet products are selling like hot cakes in India. as well as rich but also poverty stricken people. An Industry figurs state that there is no slow down in its annual growth of 10-15 percent. 
Mr. J. k. prakash, owner of Vs Associates, a leading pet products importer.... said " The market for pet products is still virgin, but is growing well. There is that much demand." We have seen no slowdown yet." he said at a recent trade fair organised in the capital, Delhi.Indias's pet industry, valued at around 45 million dollars annually( according to research firm Euromoniter), is still aminnow when compared to annual sale of 40 billion dollars in the US.

.........While mangy mongrels are a common sight on city streets across India. It's the high-status breeds, such as Great Danes, Dalmatians and Affhan Hounds, that are to be seen at the end of an expensive leash- usually being walked by servants.

.........The breed of the moment is Pug, which soared in popularity after one featured in a mobile phone television commercial. Labradors and GoldenRetrievers have shown staying power with owners willing to spend up to Rs.3,00,000(6,000 dollars) for a championship-level imported purebred specimen-- end to leave the airconditioning on so that the thick\coated breeds, such as Giant St.Bernards won't perish in the summer heat of India.

..... A property devloper said...."I have 10 dogs already...apair of bulldogs, three pugs, a pekinese and a Rottweiler is in my custody. They all are like family members to my family." further he said that the cost of their care is no concern. Neither is money is a consideration for the clients of pet grooming outlet ScoobyScrub, owned by Sanjeev Kumar.

....... "Nothing seems too expensive for our custmers when it comes to doing things for their pets." he said, adding " some treat them like there children."

...... ScoobyScrub offers such services as full body massage and hair streaking... to give them anew look.... which can cost more than  Rs. 1000.....our maids  earn this amount in a week you know.
