Discover where your targeted visitors are. Make a list
If you think that your possible website visitors hang out on the Internet, you're right. But unluckily this will not do and we have to pin it down. You will be able to find out where people are asking questions about your topic or where they're discussing it by searching in Google. You'll also notice that your potential website visitors are hanging out on other websites in your niche
Make certain you have a list of keywords to target and LSI keywords (LSI means Latent Semantic Index). Sounds complicated, but LSI keywords are just keywords that relate to the main keyword.
When using the Google keyword tool you will be able to download or export a list of keywords along with related keywords (LSII) that you'll need to center on. It's important to clearly know this before starting your backlinking campaign. with your associated keywords you will be able to use this list to make articles targeting those keywords, and you can even produce categories with these keywords.
Make a list of Webmasters in your niche and contact them for link exchange
A elementary search in Google will tell you who your competitor is. You'll need to go and make friends with these people by contacting them and getting to know them. Perhaps you could ask them a question, addressing them like an authority in that niche. Let them know that you've a website in the equal niche but are not as knowledgeable as them. Most people would be happy to help. That's the way the Internet works.
Make a list of do-follow websites to comment on
Commenting on different websites is a great way to start backlinking to your website. It's even better if this backlink is a "do-follow" link. Don't believe that commenting is a waste of time because it can not just give you back link, but it can as well give you marvellous, targeted traffic.
Make a list of websites that you can guest post on
Even if you think you're not ready for guest posting, do not stay away and wait, just jump straight into it. Don't be frightened of failure as this is your first learning instrument. Don't worry about what other people think and if your posts are going to get accepted or not. Pass on as many guest posts as you are able to to various websites and see what you bring in from this. We all know that the first thing that you'll gain is backlinks which is capital for SEO purposes, so consequently how can you lose?
