Some of the problems plaguing health care in the United States are increasing costs of coverage, an increasing population
of uninsured or underinsured and little motivation for health care professionals to address preventative medicine
Insurance companies spring from an economy focused on profit. By the time diagnosis is made, symptoms can be life threatening, irreversible or only manageable by medication which then has its own set of side affects and chemical reactions. The body whose immune system is now compromised is not armed for the fight against disease. Needless to say it can be a vicious cycle that spirals out of control. and many people consider this a normal part of the aging process.
Wellness360 is a nationwide movement motivating its participants to take a proactive role in their own health care. Participants can track
fitness and dietary goals, take a health risk assessment, read articles and chat with other members.
Many people are unaware that they are soley responsible for transfering medical records from one doctor to the next. Participants are encouraged to store complete medical records and
emergency information in one location. Having timely access to this information can be critical to successful treatment and diagnosis.
Activities are tracked electronically and particpants accumulate points which can be later cashed out. Employers are encouraged to educate employees and use their earnings to defer health care costs. Associations provide no cost benefits to their members and receive dollars based on their group participation thus raising valuable funds for other endeavors.
This is not a website designed to provide or replace traditional insurance. Health is something we take for granted until we are in pain and as your health goes so does the quality of your life. This is part of a badly needed wakeup call to Americans and a message that the past and the present does not have to dictate the future. We can change it.
