Categories of Human Population, Explained

The drama of people development continues in a seemingly complex, yet utterly simple fashion, when the human mind, heart
and spirit are touched in a truly meaningful way. People need to understand other people. There are five (5) major categories of human population are the:  non- functioning; marginally functioning; functioning; fully functioning; and highly effective/self-actualizing.
The Non-functioning (growing number) They are thepeople who have severe difficulties coping with stress; incapable and/or unwilling to make decisions about their lives; need the help of caring families and competent professionals to be able to function and cope with their realities. Examples: people trapped with drug addiction; street children and young people. Therapy and rehabilitation ( like medical therapy, psychotherapy, counseling occupational therapy, health care)  is the good  strategy to assist them in moving from that point to the next. Men and women trained in the field of medicine, clinical-counseling,  psychology, mental, health, rehabilitation and social services, church religious and civic groups are the professionals that has the  responsibility to these people.
The marginally functioning (large group) They are the rural and urban poor. Rural  poor refers to the  peasants, fisher folks, farmers, tribal people while the  urban poor  are the vendors, peddlers, gardeners, maintenance worker, small enterprisers. What are the causes of their poor situation? This maybelimited access to credit; lack of skills and technology; competition (growing stream of rural migrants in search of employment in the cities). What approach should they need to move on? It could be community and social development. Who will be responsible to do this? Social workers, psychologist, sociologist
The functioning (relatively large group) This is the group of  people who are reasonably satisfied with the way they cope with stress. People who adjust and adapt fairly well to life’s realities. Self-propelled people in the pursuit of self-actualizing goals, making considerable progress by following a variety of self-development models. They are the alert  group  in searching for informal and formal training and development programs and  production human resource of their specific work organization. Development management is what the need to continue moving on. Programs are to be designed to develop these people. Programs that embrace economic, social, political, cultural and spiritual concerns of people and by integrating the concepts of value formation and social responsibility. The persons who are professionally responsible to them are human resource development specialists, who are formally trained, also those who specialized in human resources management.
The fully functioning (relatively small group). These are the people whohave attained high level of satisfaction with regard their multidimensional growth. They are deeply aware of and challenged by the ongoing process of self-actualization. Manifest joyfulness and aliveness of mien and mind (mien means external appearance or bearing) and a life style that is not limited by chronological age. They have problems but not immobilized by the stresses of life. They have potentials to  unfold to the point at which they find meaning in both the joys and pains that living brings.
The highly effective/self-actualizing (small group). People having the attitude of continuing openness for growth in their own lives, and a passion for making life more meaningful for others, creative,productive, imbued with the philosophy of empowering individuals, groups, organizations and communities in the search for efficacy. They have systematically planned how to create the desired impact and have made a difference in the situations and events over which they have responsibility.
