How group reposes to organizational change
In an organization, the employees
and management are used to of working in a particular way. They develop or establish a set of relationship with the work environment. In simple words, they develop a balance between themselves and their work.
When a change introduces in an organisation, it shifts the balance of the organisational personnel as we know that change usually bring some variation in work environment and/or routine.
The members of a group in an organisation may response in different way to this the change. In most of the situations, the respond to change depend on the ability of members to influence others.
For example, a change is proposed to a group of 15 persons. 4 persons of the group harshly oppose the change but 4 persons desire the change where others are neutral. If those who are opposing are very influential, they can influence the response of other persons of the group. It may happen that the persons who desire change would not support change due to their group affiliation.
Contrary to this, if people desire the change is more influential than the people who are opposing, may influence their response. In this case, the persons who are opposing may also not resist change due to group relationship.
In both situations, people who are neutral, they would accept whatever decision is finally taken by the employee and management.
