TCS to hire 25,000 this year

Company, Tata Consultancy Services, is poised
to expand its fleet of staff by 25,000 this year. TCS is huge and currently employs 145,000 people globally, and planning to increase the strength by another 25,000, the
company source revealed. The turn over of the company is $ 6 billions now and it envisages to make it 10 billion dollars in the coming few years, said Tanmoy Chakraborty, Vice President and Head of Global Government Industry Group.
He was speaking at a seminar organized jointly by Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. He stressed on the acquirement of government projects all over the country. Out of the company’s total
business volume in terms of revenue, it generates 70% indigenously and the rest comes from the outside markets, he informed. Because of the enhancement of government projects, TCS is on the line to grab as much as it can to increase its revenue substantially.
The company is already in the Rs. 1000 crores passport project that would enable speedy passport delivery in the country. Other big projects that it has in mind are Unique Identification Database and e-Panchayats pan India basis. In addition, the company is on the lookout for other overseas government projects in China, Latin America, Middle East, East Africa, United States, and Southeast Asia.
At present, TCS is engaged in the banking solutions of Bank of China and digitization of taxation process of Ugadan government, Chakraborty informed.
