Buddha has his way: 50 acres each for Infosys, Wipro in Rajarhat We understand that they are all responsible
people with political powers that have equipped them with talking, as they like whenever, and whatever. West Bengal
government is in a mess not knowing what to do and when to do in the fag end of their long rules of the state. I say fag end, because of the loosing power in the
corporation elections one after another. The latest being the Siliguri corporation election that was under the strong hold of left parties for the last 25 years has gone out of hand. Trinamul Congress along with the partner Congress has won the second largest and very important municipal corporation in West Bengal.
Not even two weeks passed after the announcement of the left government that IT projects with Infosys and Wipro are cancelled, the same government has come forward to announce again that the projects would go ahead on 50 acres of land each to be provided by the government. In a left front meeting, the chief minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya ignored the last declaration of new IT projects with Infosys and Wipro, and announced the government willingness to have both the companies set up their shops in the state. The formal announcement on this would be made within a day or two, source informed.
The housing minister, Gautam Dev later confirmed his boss’s commitment of delivering 50 acres of land to each Wipro and Infosys for the IT projects. This land would be in the same newly developed Rajarhat New Town, but not in the controversial Vedic village, whose director is in prison now for large-scale malpractices in acquiring lands.
