Banks in Australia and Their Performance The world today is striving hard on banking facilities. For this purpose, to evaluate the services of the Australian Banks, few banks namely Commonwealth Bank, National Bank of Australia, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Citibank have been selected for the comparisons with regards of their services and share market values, etc. National Bank of Australia The National Bank of Australia is the largest bank and one of world’s largest financial institutions which mainly focuses on driving retail business in Australia. By early 2001, the National Australia Bank (The National) had built the largest market share among all banks in its home country, and with assets of A$250 billion was one of the 50 largest banks in the world. NAB's Executive General Manager Retail Banking, Andrew Thorburn said ‘SMS Banking will allow NAB customers to request their account balance, view a mini statement and even transfer money between their own accounts, all by sending a simple message from their mobile phone’ As per reports published in 2007 Shareholder Review by the National Australia Bank, all the business and nabcapital have recorded double digit growth in cash earnings and have strong momentum for the future growth.
