Ever thought what is “ Organizational Behavior,” and how important it is to build up the future of an organization. Organizational
behavior emerges partly out of the requirements of the formal organization and partly by the personal behavior of the individuals in an organization. It is also known as understanding, predicting and controlling human behavior at work. The fundamental concepts of organizational behavior help managers to understand the behavior of human at work.
The process of perception is most important in understanding the human behavior. Perception is a complicated interaction of selection and interpretation of stimuli. This involves five sub-processes: stimulus, registration, interpretation, feedback and consequence.
One of the most important factors of organizational behavior includes the work environment. A pleasant environment should be given to employees so that they can perform well on the job. Factors like unexpected noises, improper lighting, and variations in atmospheric effects should be avoided. In order to give favorable environment to employees, proper lighting, soothing music, good color dynamics and suitable atmospheric conditions are very important for the good performance of employee.
Effective communication has become the foundation of the modern organizations. Communication acts to control member behavior. It facilitates decision-making and provides for the fulfillment of social needs. Apart from effective communication, successful organizations need dynamic and effective leadership to keep them apart from unsuccessful organization.
