The
competition in schedule flight operations in Indonesia is become Intense in the
last five years as there
were some companies entered into this industry. Today,
there are more than ten airlines( 47 exactly) that serve domestic routes. The
industry analysis will help the manager in determining which business strategy
to be implemented to get competitive advantage. This article uses Porter’s six
forces
framework to analyze Indonesian schedule flight industry. The elements
of this framework are rivalry among competitors, thereat from new entrant,
thereat from substitute products or services,
bargaining power of suppliers,
bargaining power of buyers, and relative power of other stakeholders.
