Abstract: Light Bulbs for Leaders is a  concise but complete guide for all young leaders and managers who are inspire  to adopt a  practical approach to team forming , storming , , norming , performing and adjourning. Indeed, it is very simple and friendly way of story telling progressively motivating all peers to recognize the real value of team sprit and synergy they could draw from each other. It emphasizes how teamwork is the key to to open the door for superior performance and career growth. It looks like a novel which takes you through day today functioning of various departments and how various directors, managers and self centered technology experts who were distantly located and had individual excellence  form a cohesive team and produced outstanding results.
The author has shown very easy to follow road map for all types of managers and leaders. The book contains many ideas, tools, and tips, guidelines and checklists which are down-to-earth, easy-to-understand and quick to apply as you go through the book. It helps to understand team functioning, complexities and evolving practical solutions.
 
The authors have very strongly rejected the myth that leaders are born. Instead, they have established that leadership lies in continuous learning and any serious manager can be transformed to a leader and star performer. In the case study of Fulcrum (notional company) the authors bring out the when faced with rapidly shrinking budgets in highly competitive market, CEO may adopt radical cultural change to remain competitive and pace setter.
 
As you thumb through the pages you are made to experience setbacks and successes which team members had and how they overcame initial inertia and attempted to overcome the psychological and procedural problems to achieve their goal. The first part – Book I provides many practical lessons about process of learning for effective teams. It lays stress on keeping focus on organization goal, co-operating , collaborating and  working passionately to achieve it.
The second part -Book II is a guide to team earning. The authors have provided four principles for learning teams- 1) Show up, 2) Be present, 3) Tell the truth without blame or judgment ,4) Be open to outcomes. The book shows the way to learn through experience – Identify, Analyze, Generalize. It explains  how to apply the lessons learned to develop a high-performing team.
Book III, provides rot chart for effective use of the lessons learned in Books I and II. It contains many ready to use  checklists, exercises, charts, and other visual aids to empower the reader to achieve  higher levels of team productivity  and efficiency
Light Bulbs for Leaders is a very valuable handy guide packed with practical lessons and tips for transforming any organization/institution into a learning and high performing organization
