I am not as such a book lover, but one book store makes me not only visit it often but also read something. The bookstore in question is Oxford Center at Cannaught Place, New Delhi.
The book store is strategically located in one of the best building in the business center of Delhi. It is occupying the second floor of the Statesman House.
My first visit to this book store was in two years ago. Since then, I always try to visit the store whenever get a chance. It is not only the ambience which attracts me, but there are more fascinating stuffs which spellbound me.
First of all, the coffee table section of the store is really fabulous. Almost all famous coffee table books from around the world are available there. I can sit there, flip the pages of books, and can order coffee on the same place. The experience is really great. Like a well known library, the book store provides full peace of mind. One can always find lots of people in the store, but there is no noise which makes sitting there all the more attractive.
There are special sections for children, senior citizens, and women, where books of their choice and needs are arranged.
The behavior of management and other staffs are charming. They treat every customer with same dignity. I experienced that even a low level staff is well trained and behaves politely with every customer.
However, the same don’t go for the price of books. They don’t give any sort of concession on any book. In fact, it is not proper to ask for any rebate on the MRP of books.
One can take a virtual tour of the store on their website the URL address of which is www.oxfordbookstore.com.
Anyway, this is great book shop and I have already recommended all of my friends to visit the store. The experience is really unforgettable.
