Delegation of power and responsibilities is proven to be effective in management. Delegate employee whom you know well. Who is the most Educationally qualified. And perhaps seniority also count. A trusted one who will not manipulate and over power you at the back.
You must close supervise those people you have delegated. Be clever to notice any manipulative character that will destroy you and the whole system. On the other hand, provide them positive motivation to create strong and effective workforce.
Have a clear-cut vision on what you want them to do and to achieve on a given time frame. To perform independently, giving them due respect and giving them positive motivation. Toward achieving mass production.
A smart manager knows the toughness and the lightness of each task. Managers must always bear in mind that they dealt on human beings, which have heart and feelings like them. So, they must be humane, kind but firm and consistence in decision making.
Vertical And Horizontal Management
Vertical management is from the lower managers, to the middle managers, going up to the top managers. Setting time table or flow chart to channel management and supervision to enhance the tasks effectively and must be within the framework as desired.
Channeling is effective if when and where there is no duplication of the given tasks to the delegated middle managers. So, no usurpation of power may occur.
Horizontal management happen when the same top managers plan and implement the tasks on the same level of management on parallel department or office. That the input and the output of the job results are expected on the same level of expectancy, as stated in the flowchart or in the performance indicator.
Managers must see to it that assigned tasks are well implemented, well done and in accordance to the given performance indicator. Honest performance evaluation should be done and incentive be given in due time to righteous and fast achievers.
This will boost productivity and harmony in the workforce.This will also preserve self-esteem and develop loyalty among employees to the company.
