Using Spreadsheets to Stay Organized

Using spreadsheets to stay organized has become better than ever with the rising popularity of collaborative spreadsheets. Teams working on an important project no longer need to keep emailing large spreadsheet files back and forth for edits and comments. Using a web-based spreadsheet program such as Google Docs eliminates these time-consuming tasks and can greatly speed up productivity. Users with access to a shared spreadsheet can make and save quick changes to a spreadsheet that other team members can view right away. Collaborative spreadsheets also allow for greater accountability when it comes to tracking who has contributed what to a project over the course of its entire timeframe.

A spreadsheet used for inventory can be quite convenient and advantageous if it is a web-based one, particularly for a business with different locations spread over a larger geographic area. This eliminates the need for cases of phone tag and waiting for email replies. A set of shared spreadsheets can also be a good component of a video conferencing presentation, particularly one that concerns how well a given business is doing financially. A good spreadsheet presentation can sometimes make a notable impression on company shareholders in some cases.

When it comes to using spreadsheets for an organized presentation, many users are concerned with its appearance and formatting. One advantage to spreadsheet templates is that designers and developers are continually coming up with new spreadsheet template designs and making them available online for others to use, often at no cost. Studies have shown that spreadsheets with visually pleasing and well-thought-out design templates have higher rates of successfully communicating the same information. The standards of formatting text and cell spacing correctly takes a bit of trial and error at first, but modern spreadsheet programs have come a long way as far as ease of use.
