There is an up and coming Jazz Festival in Istanbul from July 1st to 19th and the Jazz Festival is in its 18th year and is organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Jazz. The Turkish Digest blogged that this Jazz Festival is an eclectic colection of concerts with a quintest led by Herbie Hancock who will perform a tribute to Miles Davis and refers to Cemil Topuzla who will be present at the Open Air Theater .. will also include Paul Simon who will also be performing July 19. This goes on in the former Byzantine Church of Hagia eirine with percussionist Misiru Ahmet accompanied by Zakir Hussain. // so the eye catching headline "Istanbul Jazz Festival Hits the Streets" highlights the importance of this culture event and its performers in July in Istanbul in Turkey. Over the years my Turkish friend has blogged some of the highlights of evenets - surrounding the great European Culture City of Istanbul including drawings, sketches of Jazz artists who were on the streets of Istanbul in Turkey several years ago. Jazz is a form of entertainment with a wide following and certainly I often tune into Jazz on the BBC Radio 3 programme on Saturdays with a great choice of music that those who enjoy Jazz can take it as we strive to find entertainment to enjoy in these days of our lives!
