Movie Review   by:camilobuitrago     Original Author: Writer: Daniel Wallace. Director: Tim Burton

Resume: This movie shows a conception of literature and how it influences life.Even that the literary theory doesn't have a concrete definition, this films gets nears to one that says "literature is fiction". Both characters struggle to keep their position in life and, because of that they "crash" emotionally. One (the father) tells life's stories like a literary narrator, where fantasy helps reality. The other (son) insists on telling his father to "tell him trues", because he can't accept the fantasy as a flavoring of the past. The father represents a model almost lost in the present, oral literature; it starts for example when a father tell stories to his song. It not only looks as a beautiful example of paternity, but also as literary culture. At the end a reconciliation can be seen between both, where the son comprehends the importance of fiction and with his father they give a happy end to the history of his life.It is free for the election of the viewer which kind of person he want to see: someone that sees life as an accumulation of facts, or as someone that make it sweeter, embellishes it and share with others. As a complement I add that the stories told on the film are very interesting, funny, charged with emotion, with a singular and emotive humor. The characters are naturals and well defined.Enjoy and make a reflection about it.
