''Sepet'' is a movie set in a town named, Ipoh where two young hearts from different cultural and religious background crossed-path. Orked, a young Malay girl who''s a big fan of Chinese film-maker, Wong Kar-Wai befriended Jason, a Chinese boy who sells pirated film VCD.A phone call from Jason slowly leads to regular dates at a fast food chain and finally leading to love. However, not everyone are comfortable with their inter-racial relationship. Orked faces constant slight racial teasing from her friends because of her ''peacock-eyed'' partner. ''Sepet'' shows us the differences between Jason and Orked lives. Orked is blessed with a happy and loving family - dad (Pak Atan), mom (Mak Inom), Kak Yam. In contrast, Jason grew up in a household where drunk and domestic abuse were dominant during the earlier years of his life. Despite all that, Jason still gets all the love and affection from his mom. ''Sepet'' threw the question ''Why society (supposedly being more civilized now-days) still have prejudice against different races and cultures?'', which is very interesting and makes you ponders on it. It is interesting to watch how Jason''s best friend, Keong tore down the wall that he has build against those from the opposite race after meeting Orked. it never occurs to Keong that he can be such a great friend with Orked and shares some common interests. It shows us that we should not have prejudice thoughts against those from a different background until we get to know them better because not all of them behaves exactly as how we thought they would.Alas, Jason and Orked did not end up happily ever after. Their simple love was shattered when Jason''s ex-girlfriend was pregnant with his love child. Will Orked forgive Jason for his mistake? Will Jason be able to win back Orked''s heart? Do watch "Sepet'' and you shall figure it out yourself.
