Taare Zameen Par- a review.
Hat’s off to Aamir Khan for making such a sensitive movie.
He has yet again proved to be a very insightful producer. In Taare Zameen par,
he has modestly shown that even if a child is dyslexic, he might be just as
brilliant in some other capacity. The movie has thrown light into some very
familiar issues, which are different from the daily mundane concerns.
Darsheel Safary (Ishaan
Awasthi), in the movie is a dyslexic. With his acting, he has given a complex
to all those great performances in the recent past. He loves to paint and play
with colors. He seems least interested in books, whereas his elder brother is
bright in studies, and is always set as an example for him. Fed up with all the
complaints from Ishaan’s teachers, his parents take a final plunge and pack him
off to a boarding school. It is here that his teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh
(Aamir Khan) discovers Ishaan. Ishaan, who was at one time very pleasant and
loved to paint, had suddenly lost all interest in his trivia’s. It was this
particular teacher who helped Ishaan find himself. He made Ishaan’s parents see
what they were missing out on. Ishaan’s father in particular, who claimed so
confidently that he knew his son so well was only proved to be wrong at the
Aamir Khan has tastefully designed this film to put across a
very significant message to all the parents and teachers.
The most striking
part of the film was the fact that if a child is dyslexic that does not mean
it’s the end of the world for him. A teacher or a parent must in fact open new
arenas for the child. They should let the child be, and give him immense
freedom to think, imagine, and give them the liberty to do something of there
interest. Something like what, Ram Shankar Nikumbh did in the movie. He deviated
from the regular norms and tried to create a different world for his students.
With fortitude and composure, he revealed Ishaan’s talent. Subsequently, he
organized a painting competition, wherein Ishaan was declared the winner. This
enhanced his confidence and brought back the smile to his tender face.
Every parent or a teacher has to clearly take a peek into a
child’s heart to understand his thoughts. Subtle in its approach, and
magnificently woven, this movie is a mere amusement, and more of perception.
It’s a must watch for every parent. Aamir Khan deserves all the appraisals for
making such a fantastic film.
