This is a review of "Double Jeopardy". The movie is a thrilling combination of money, murder and marriage. Loaded with suspense, it revolves around Ashley Judd and her fight against her husband who implicates her in his own murder. She discovers that he is alive and wants revenge. She finally kills him in self defence.
However, the law is at the mercy of the scriptwriter. "Double Jeopardy" is a defence to any offence. Thus, when Ashley is once convicted of murdering her husband though he was alive, she pleads that she cannot be punished again because it would amount to punishing her second time for the same offence which is not permissible under the law. She forgets that in U.S.A, separate States have distinct jurisdiction and the fact that she "committed" the murder in different States at both times can result in her conviction!
