Jaane Tu..ya jaane na
! A fresh positive love story of a confused boy and girl who realize they are in love after many troubles to their hearts. And, they meet in the end as lovers. This is the story idea of the movie. It may look repetitive but its treatment is exclusive. It is a love of today. A group of sweet, chirpy youngsters, whose college gets over, continues to be best friends in a healthy way. Their friendship creates a new wave of friendship and love.
New faces in love stories with strong scripts have always attracted the audience. Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla stole the hearts of millions in 1988 in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. After 20 years, Imran Khan (Aamir’s nephew
) did it again with his co-star, Genelia D’souza. However, ‘Jaanu Tu’ has a positive satisfying end than QSQT.
The script is simple yet contemporary. Its modern look is appealing. The characterization is very honest and strong, which holds the audience to the movie. Every actor has justifies the character he/she portrays. Worth mentioning, is Nasser-ud-din Shah who looks good while talking to his wife, from a portrait! Imran Khan and Genelia have looked fantastic and acted very well. Every young couple would yearn to be like them in their understanding and emotions. Their newness and intense relation is the strength of the script. The relationship of Amit (played by Pratiek Babbar) with his sister, Aditi is also very bonding. He is a wonderful actor and has done full justice to the depth of the character. The cute mouse is dearest to him. People admire this sweetness. Sohail and Arbaaz Khan on horses add some comic element to the film.
Use of animals and the nickname of Jai and Aditi as animals are also interesting. Making animals part of contemporary films especially horses looks juxtaposed. Elderly characters are graceful. Songs are full of fun and energy. The director and the actors are novice but their efforts are appreciated. Viewers walk out smiling. It hooks the audience to itself.
