The story of Golmaal Returns is about Gopal (Ajay Devgan) who lives with his wife Ekta (Karina Kapoor), Sister Isha (Amrita Arora) and dumb brother-in-law Lucky (Tushar Kapoor). Just like ordinary indian women Ekta also likes televison programmes based on mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship.
One Night, while returning from the office, Gopal saved a young and beautiful woman name Meera (Selina Jetley) from some hooligans but due to this he had to stay on a boat for that nigh night with Meera.
In morning, when he returned home and meets his wife Ekta. Ekta suspects that he reveled the night with any of his female office-mate. Gopal tries to tell he about the night''s incident but Ekta started arguing. So Gopal tells he a figment story that he spent night with his friend name Anthony Gonsalwis. he also give her a false address of him. But Ekta does not believe him and decided to write a letter to Anothony and invites him at home.
So Gopal prepare his friend Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) to be Anthony and convince Ekta that Gopal stayed at him home on that night. Laxman successfully conviced ekta about the same but suddenly actual Anthony reaches there. Actually the false address Gopal gives to Ekta, belongs to Anthony.
Meanwhile, Gopal come to know that the place where he saved Meera from hooligans, police found the dead body of one of employees of Gopal''s office. Police inspector Madhav (Arshad Warsi) is investing this case. Madhav and Gopal do not like each other.
How Gopal save himself from this murder mystory, this is shown in an interesting way...
