Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Movie Review   by:susheel2000

A simple and short review of the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

The movie has the typical YRF ingredients.

However, it is slow and boring and not at all convincing.

The new comer girl is good but has no scene where her acting skills come out.

Shahrukh looks terribly old and tries to look like his Baazigar days.

He should have quit smoking long back, now health shows what he never expected.

The portion below his Adam's apple on the neck looks bad.

There is a song dedicated to old-time Bollywood actors but the question is If Rajesh Khanna, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor are covered, why is Amitabh Bachchan missing? Does that truly give credit to the tabloids story of a possible rift between the Khan and the Bachchan?

The movie's climax is really bad, it is unbelievable that firstly a wife cannot recognise her own husband in a different look, does the voice change? No? It doesn't. It is so filmi and not believable or entertaining. The climax could have given a twist to this question itself by atleast showing that the girl had recognised him on the first day but as she did not want to disturb the Raj in Suri or discourage his romantic side, she let him be Raj. Because she had sworn and promised Suri that she will always try to be a good wife, (then she cannot try to elope with Raj). She should have fell in love with Raj cum Suri and asked him to be like he was in the Raj attire only, fun filled and smiling and flirty.

Moreover, it is not believable that Surinder who is so simple and non-stylish can even talk or act like that. If he had so much of acting skills in him, they why did he not change the original Suri itself and why did he have to change his hair styles and looks?

The inclusion of Japan in the movie shows how desperately they were trying to do In-film advertising and promote Tourism in Japan when it was not required by the script at all. So welcome to the days when you will have a script written for the product than a product placed as per the script.

A deliberate mention of Dhoom and DDLJ means self-praising and boasting by YRF.

A slow and a pathetic movie running houseful only because of the YRF-SRK combination that rocked Bollywood Once Upon A Time.

Watch the movie, if you are not paying for the tickets.
