PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA IN GHANA.
On July 10,2009,several weeks after massive noise have been made about the historic visit of the American president his Excellency Barrack Obama,he finally landed on the soil of Ghana together with his wife Michelle and kids, his presence did not only put smile and joy on the faces of the many Ghanaians but also instilled hope for the future. Before his arrival, the question on the minds of most Ghanaians was :Could Obama be the one?, could he be the one to bring peace, hope and make the world a happy place?”.
Ghanaians couldn’t just wait to hear the inspiring voice of the American president, who is now nicknamed “The chosen prophet” by most Ghanaians. After his first speech, the people had no doubts in their minds that indeed he was the chosen prophet and the right person to make that positive change people have been crying for and also bring the world together as a happy family. One key element that needs to be emphasized here is that president Obama did not just come to Ghana as the American president but a son of Africa visiting his homeland. President Barrack Obama now famously called the chosen prophet, after his visit to the castle in cape coast (where forefathers of Ghanaians were kept as slaves during the slavery era),He kept so long in there, he couldn’t control his emotion than to weep, indeed it was a very emotional time for the chosen prophet , the people of Ghana and the whole continent.
All he could say was “it feels great to be back home” followed with that splendid smile of his!, the story surrounding the teen and youth years of president Obama really inspired most of the youth and also serves as a source of motivation for the new generation of Africans and the world at large. Interestingly, a 12yr old boy known as Afriyie who lives in Kumasi has been in the spotlight for several weeks before and after the visit of president Obama, sources claim this boy looks so much like Obama that they are almost tempted to believe Mr. Afriyie could possibly relate the President of America. Mr. Afriyie has been nicknamed named “junior Obama” ever since he got in the spotlight and he proved why he was called junior Obama when he was spotted by daily life news cameras
The question is: can this young boy “junior Obama” really be related to the American President Barrack Obama who is visiting Ghana for the very first time in his life?. The answer is unknowned, what do you think? do you think it is possible for junior Obama(Mr. Afriyie) to relate President Barrack Obama(American President)? And could Mr. Afriyie(Junior Obama) also be the chosen prophet for the future generation of Ghana and the whole continent?!
This was a historic visit that will forever be remembered and cherished by all Africans, especially Ghanaians. Most people saw the President(Barrack Obama) as a symbol for peace, unity and prosperity.
Ghanaians felt much blessed to have such a motivator, uniter and peace promoter like Barrack Obama in their mist. The thought of President Barrack Obamma going back too soon was not a happy feeling, even though he is gone now, Ghanaians will forever have him and America at heart.
