When you hear a movie bearing the name "Final Destination" then what will be printed in your mind? A series of painful deaths and a story of people trying to evade what they called 'Death', following the direction of one young man/woman that somehow miraculously able to somehow predict the next death. Finally the series reach its fourth installment but what can I say? Somehow the series turn into a movie that talks only about blood, squashy human flesh, and... yes, deaths.
This last Final Destination somehow lacking a powerful storyline, it feels as if we just looking at some series of deaths and that's that; it fails in completely bringing the viewers into its thrill and feel of danger. The effect sometimes looks unconvincing, when blood and human flesh looked like some red jelly being splattered.
It does manage to bring up some scenes that catch the audience attention, such as scenes that make the viewers the character should die but it turns out it is still not the time and only a kind of pre-cursor to death, which leads the viewers to actually wait for them to die and to wonder how the characters are going to die. Maybe people can also enjoy the creative ideas of every death, how every death is directed very carefully when it takes the life of the characters one by one.
However, the lacking of storyline and emotions made the Final Destination 4 "just another movie" in the series. There may still be some good points but if you want a good thriller, I suggest you not to make Final Destination 4 a priority. Especially if you are not in the mood on seeing too much battered human flesh.
