Little mermaid marked the beginning of Disney’s renaissance after a string of flop animations of the 80’s. Ariel is a sixteen year old mermaid inquisitive about the world led by humans falls in love with a young prince,Eric,’a human’ on a ship; its love at first site; when the ship wrecks , Ariel saves him and leads him to the shore. Eric, unaware of the mermaid who saved him, wishes to marry her someday. But to the ocean lings humans are dangerous. Ariel is forbidden her love by her loving and caring father. So she visits Ursula, the sea witch, asking her to give her limbs. Cunning Ursula, wants to enslave the beautiful mermaid and she executes a plan which begins with exchanging Ariel’s voice for her wish. How Ariel falls for the rest of Ursula’s plot and how she redeems the situation is the rest of the story.
The movie is an adorable touching tale of love and depicts the triumph of good over evil. It has a great collection of musical scores and surfaces the beauty of the underwater.
